Apollo technology curbs crime in Ealing

Ealing police officers are now equipped with two handheld state-of-the-art scanners able to detect stolen goods. This technology allows officers attending premises and dealing with offenders to perform on the spot serial number checks without the necessity of removing suspected property to be examined at the police station, as it would have happened previously.

On Thursday 5th November David Hanson, Minister of State for Security, Counter-Terrorism, Crime and Policing spent time in Birmingham's Bullring shopping centre with partners who were running a "United Streets of Birmingham" event as part of the "Not In My Neighbourhood Week". The event was organised with the intention of reaching a target audience of 2000 members of the public to raise awareness of the action partners take to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in the city. David Hanson met the Tilley Award winning partners whose work on the Glebe Farm Estate lead to a dramatic reduction in anti-social behaviour.

Radio Tactics Limited Raises money for Help For Heroes

Radio Tactics Limited (RTL) has raised £1,250 towards `Phil's Million`. This is a challenge set by Major Phil Packer, a Member of the Royal Military Police who was wounded whilst on duty in Iraq. Although he became a paraplegic as the result of his injuries, Major Packer has set himself the task of raising £1 million for the `Help For Heroes` fund by 26th April 2009.

To celebrate our recent move we are hosting a 2 day event. This will include a drinks reception starting from 19:30 on Thursday 20th November at the Solent Sky Museum. This is a particularly significant venue as our new offices are in Nicolson House, that are named after Flt. Lt. James Nicolson VC. Nicolson was awarded the only VC to a Fighter Command in the Battle of Britain, who having shot down an enemy aircraft over Southampton, bailed out of his Hurricane and landed on the spot where the building now sits.
